Operations Manager – Cargo Trucking : Non Bonded

About the Job

You will be responsible Non-Bonded Trucking operations at Karnataka and ensure it is managed effectively, mobilizing return loads for our vehicle thus optimizing the revenue, exploring new bonded trucking/ Non Bonded cargo trucking business opportunities at Karnataka, maintaining good relationship with customers, retaining the customers with quality service to their full satisfaction.

Desired Profile

Qualification – Any Degree

Experience - 5+ years in  transport business or as a part of fleet & revenue management is preferable.


Duties & Responsibilities

·         To manage the existing  – South-India - Inbound & Outbound operations (Fleet management and Driver management will be cartelized at the Chennai Corporate office)
·         To obtain the Daily/ weekly truck schedules from the customers
·         To send the request for placement of trucks to customers location in time to the Central Fleet Management Team and monitor with Central fleet management Team for timely placement of trucks 
·         To ensure that trucks are correctly/ promptly placed as per the customer’s schedule/requirement at  clients factories for inbound/ at warehouses for outbound trips.
·         To ascertain & record the timings of loading/ unloading at client’s factories / Truck entry restrictions at loading points as per RTO/Police respectively and place the vehicle for inbound transactions ensuring that the trucks halting time is minimized,
·         To ascertain & record the timings of loading/ unloading at Hoskote warehouses/ Stores -destinations and place the truck as per requirement & minimize the truck halting time at both ends.
·         To manage the customers on any abnormal unintentional delay on our placement of trucks and other expected services.
·         To continuously educate the supervisors/ drivers to strictly adhere to the SOPs& take utmost care while loading and unloading.
·         To ensure that the customer is satisfied in all respects
·         To ensure the compliance with and perform to the expected standard level as per the terms of the agreement executed with the customer
·         To attend QMR (Quality Monitoring Report) session monthly separately for inbound and outbound & achieve maximum points.
·         To obtain the rate approval from the customer for any adhoc (new route/ 32ft multi axle trucks) movements (after getting rates approved by Company COO/CFO)
·         To prepare the inbound data in the format specified on a fortnightly basis/ monthly basis and send to the concerned official of the customer
·         To prepare the outbound data in the format specified on a fortnightly basis/monthly basis and send to the concerned official of the customer
·         To send the final monthly inbound data/ outbound data transactions to the officials of the customer and get the final approval for invoicing.
·         To check the correctness of the invoices and advice the corporate finance team on the invoicing discrepancies if any.
·         To follow up with DCN accounts team and collect the invoice amounts in time.
·         To update the data relating to each trip/movement in the designated software.
·         To maintain very good rapport and relationship with the customers by providing quality and timely service 
·         To explore new non bonded trucking business from the Corporates/ Freight forwarders/ MNCs in Karnataka and manage the business efficiently as per the directions of COO/GM
