HR Manager – Generalist : Core HR Activities

About Our Client

Our client is a logistics company that is part of a large Chennai based group. They handle the outsourced Air Cargo business for Indian operations for an MNC cargo airlines in carrying freight, mail and courier traffic to global destinations. Their experienced operational and commercial team take pride in delivering high levels of performance and customer care.

Job Profile

You will be responsible for proactively managing all HR, recruitment and generalist processes and practices enabling the HR team to support the business in pan-India geographical area. Your role will be key in delivering all people related policy, processes and development as well as coaching management and employees through the employment life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

·         Developing an employee-oriented organization culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, team- work, high performance and quality.
·         Implementing HR programs and policies as needed by the organization.
·         Defining the learning strategy and recruitment, setting high standard principles and providing likely solutions. Providing pragmatic and consistent guidance and advice to managers on grievance, attendance, disciplinary, and performance issues.
·         Raising proactive issues with managers, identifying practical solutions to complex and diverse HR issues, and recommending appropriate action plans.
·         Briefing new managers on the policies and procedures of an organization in conjunction with
development and learning team, providing coaching to managers on difficult and complex issues.
·         Collecting ongoing information regarding satisfaction of employee on salary packages and wage, working conditions, etc. 
·         Keeping managers informing on antidiscrimination regulations.
·         Conducting new employee orientation program and other educational and training programs on changes in benefits, diversity, etc.
·         Administering and keeping information on benefits and compensation packages up-to-date.
·         Receiving employee complaints and acting accordingly to resolve them.
·         Identifying, evaluating, and resolving human relations, employee morale, work performance, and
organizational productivity concerns.
·         Developing staffing strategies and implementing programs and plans.
·         Creating and implementing employee training and organizational development programs. 
·         Conducting and ensuring performance reviews with people managers and monitoring employee attitudes, productivity, and performance outcomes. 
·         Recruiting and retaining top quality employees for the organization and conducting interviews.
·         Insuring that every aspect of human resources incorporate the vision, values, and culture of the
organization

Desired Profile

·         Qualification -  MBA / MSW / PGDBM – HR, etc

·         Experience - 8 + years relevant experience in a similar role engaged in Core HR activities

·         Flexibility and the ability to travel mostly within India
·         Results orientated, attention to details and with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
·         Experience in supporting Managers and employees through performance and employee relations issues.
·         Experience of developing and drafting HR policy and practice in line with pan-Indian labour legislation.
·         Strong team player who is also able to work on as an individual contributor and in supporting Managers and employees through performance and employee relations issues
·         Ability to work effectively in the given environment with excellent interpersonal skills and strong cultural versatility and empathy
·         Excellent communication & influencing skills at all levels of the organisation, with a full proficiency level of the English language.
·         Leadership & ability to motivate and energize colleagues and subordonates  to positively stimulate the progress of projects
