Our client  is a fast passed growing  manufacturing unit in Chennai in collaboration  with a Korean giant to be the first to produce wet brake , wet clutch system, Friction Disc etc. for automobile & heavy vehicle  industry .  They are quality driven company and have a reputation for reliability. They take pride in being large enough to handle any kind of requirement and yet small enough to give personalized attention to address the customized needs of the client.  They are expanding production and are having aggressive plans for growth.

Job Description

The incumbent of this  position will play a pivotal role in the management, expansion and growth of the company. He will be responsible for the entire production activity of the plant  and hence should be able to give technical direction in the areas of Design, production, process, quality, procurement,  product expansion, maintenance, safety,etc. He must be able to exhibit strong leadership with excellent man management skills and should be able to comfortably deal with international clients 

Desired Profile

Qualification - Mechanical Engineer /  Diploma Mechanical

Experience

·         20 + years of experience in Machine Shop , preferably  in  Automotive sector (No plastic components)

·         Must be in a similar position / top management position.

Desired Skills

·         Strong exposure to CNC ,VMC, HMC machine shop production environment

·         Working  exposure to Press shop

·         Must have managed a large sized production Unit   of 300 + workforce

·         Have Excellent Man Management skills

·         Must have strong exposure to cross functions:  Designing, Tooling, Quality, New Product Development, Procurement, etc.

·         Exposure to producing  a variety of machined components  is a must have skill

·         Developing & implementing production plans & schedules to achieve pre-set targets as per budgeted parameters.

·         Exposure to Designing layouts, installing & commissioning machines & equipment and conducting tests to determine effectiveness

·         Must have good experience in TQM,Kaizen,TS16949,Poka Yoke and other quality, process & SOP techniques relevant  to the auto industry

·         Should be able to exhibit strong leadership

·         Mentoring subordinates and ensuring amicable employee relations in the shop floor.

·         A stickler for high safety standards

·         Ability to handle international clients

·         Excellent spoken & written communication in English
