HR Manager – Generalist & Payroll


About Our Client

Our client is   one of the world’s leading leisure travel companies  & operates in over 180 countries with more than 30 million customers. They provide hotel accommodation, transfers, excursions and tours, meetings and events and cruise handling services to tour operators, travel agents, corporate clients and direct to the consumer.  They have their Integraged Business Process centre  in India with  20 service centers to serve the traveling clients in allied services.

Job Profile

You will be responsible for proactively managing all HR, recruitment and generalist processes and practices enabling the HR team to support the business in pan-India geographical area. Your role will be key in delivering all people related policy, processes and development as well as coaching management and employees through the employment life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

·         Active management of all people issues for India supporting the business in improving performance and profitability and mitigating risk relating to people issues.
·         First line advice to the business on appropriate methods to manage performance, handle employee relations matters and provide generalist HR support.
·         Hiring, contracting & declaring internal client group (approx 100 to 150 pax)
·         Contributing to the output of the compensation and benefits audit and review process including external market data surveys, job matching and compensation analysis for annual pay reviews.
·         Building positive working relationships with all employees and management in India. Full ownership of functional client groups.
·         Working with the business managers to identify recruitment needs and support them in raising the bar by hiring talent.
·         Preventing potentially damaging situations by education and monitoring of best practice.
·         Day-to-day management of the Indian benefits plans and third party vendor relationship management.
·         Ownership of payroll process and supporting implementation of HR systems management.
·         Administrate, collect and coordinate payroll information, declarations and filings
·         Translation of business changes into practical people management solutions.
·         Ability to communicate and engage with employees at all levels internally and with external stakeholders.
·         Develop and operate a new hire induction program as well as supporting managers through managerial effectiveness coaching.
·         Work & report within deadlines, act as a business partner with all other departments of the organisation

Desire Profile

·         Qualification -  MBA / MSW / PGDBM – HR, etc
·         Experience - 8 years relevant experience in a similar role within an international company or 5 years as a HR & Payroll manager operating at an advisory level and beyond.
·         Flexibility and the ability to travel mostly within India
·         Results orientated, attention to details and with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
·         Experience in supporting Managers and employees through performance and employee relations issues.
·         Experience of developing and drafting HR policy and practice in line with pan-Indian labour legislation.
·         Strong team player who is also able to work on as an individual contributor and in supporting Managers and employees through performance and employee relations issues
·         Ability to work effectively in a multi-national environment with excellent interpersonal skills and strong cultural versatility and empathy (including comfortable lead projects within a matrix organization)
·         Excellent communication & influencing skills at all levels of the organisation, with a full proficiency level of the English language.
·         Leadership & ability to motivate and energize colleagues and subordonates  to positively stimulate the progress of projects
·         Proficiency in Pack Office &HRIS& Payroll softwares (SARAL payback and or SGC systems are an asset).
