Job Description

You will be part of the Production Engineering Department where in the dominant production activity is in machined auto components. The unit also has a growing press shop which will also be your responsibility. Hence, you will be responsible for driving production in both areas, resole technical issues.   It is expected that your core competency will be in Machine shop and thus you will be expected to exhibit high level exposure to designing, new product development, production process, client interaction, etc. Since the press shop is at a growth stage, it will be expected that you give direction & technical expertise in the area of machinery, heat treatment, etc.


Desired Profile

Qualification - Mechanical Engineer / Diploma Mechanical

Experience – 12 + years of experience in the Automotive sector (No plastic components)

Desired Skills

·         Strong exposure to CNC,VMC  machine shop production environment
·         Must have managed production dept with large workforce
·         Have Excellent Man Management skills
·         Must have strong exposure to cross functions:  Designing, Tooling, Quality, New Product Development, Procurement, etc.

About the Job

You will be responsible for ensuring timely allocation of Trucks (own as well as outsourced trucks) for each movement of Bonded and Non-Bonded Trucking operations throughout India based on request from the respective operations team, ensuring that the reputed transporters are inducted in the Company’s Vendor system as per the laid down policies and procedures, ensuring that each movement is carried out cost effectively and monitored from the origin till arrival through TRUCK WATCH team, ensuring that the vehicles idle time and empty runs are at very minimum level, ensuring the updating of provisional revenue sheet for each movement, ensuring the daily Operational MIS sent by the operations team is cross verified with the movements made on a daily basis and certifying the correctness of the movements in MIS., maintaining good relationship with vendors and providing quality service to the operations team to their customers full satisfaction.

Desired Profile

Education & Language skills

·         Graduate with evidence of above average academic and extracurricular achievement
·         Fluent in written and spoken English. Must be well versed in speaking Kannada, Telugu & Hindi
·         Fluency in Tamil & Telegu will be added advantage

  • To ensure that the idle time for the trucks and empty run are minimized to have cost effective operations
  • To manage the operations team and the customers on any abnormal unintentional delay on the placement of trucks and other expected services
  • To obtain rate approval for each movement (Other than approved rates with the vendor) from the Senior Manager/GM/COO
  • To ensure that the provisional revenue sheet summary is prepared daily detailing the revenue for each movement and shared with the management in time as required
  • To ensure that the drivers are recruited in time and managed effectively
  • To continuously train and educate the drivers to meet the expected standards
  • To educate the driver to take utmost care of the truck and the cargo during each movement
  • To ensure that each movement is monitored from the origin till the destination through TRUCK WATCH team for both Bonded and Non-Bonded Trucking operations
  • To ensure that TRUCK WATCH team updates each truck movement data to customers through TRUCK WATCH APP updates and through periodical mails as per agreed terms with the customers
  • To ensure that each movement is carried out without delay, without any dissatisfaction to the operations team and customers and with optimum cost
  • To ensure that the daily, weekly, Monthly reports as required by management are prepared and provided in time
  • To ensure that the Central Fleet management Team operates 24x7 effectively meeting the expectation and to the satisfaction of the management
  • To receive vendor invoices, approve and send to Finance for timely payment to vendors
  • To assist the Management/ Operations team during Rate quote/ RFQ submission to customer
