Our client  have a manufacturing unit in Chennai in collaboration  with a Korean giant to be among the leading manufacturers  to produce wet brake , wet clutch system, Friction Disc etc. for automobile industry .  They are quality driven company and have a reputation for reliability. They take pride in being large enough to handle any kind of requirement and yet small enough to give personalized attention to address the customized needs of the client.  They ambitious and are having aggressive plans for expanding  their range of automotive component production and have already initiated capacity buildup.

Job Description

The incumbent will head the Auto component manufacturing unit engaged in friction products like wet brake assembly  .  He will report to the Managing Director.  He will be responsible for all activities of the unit from procurement, production, QC / QA  etc.

Desired Profile

  • Qualification - Mechanical Engineer
  • Experience – 15 + years of experience in the Automotive sector (No plastic components)
  • Strong exposure to machine shop production environment
  • Must have headed manufacturing unit of 100 + workforce
  • Developing & implementing production plans & schedules to achieve pre-set targets as per budgeted parameters.
  • interfacing with vendors for cost effective sourcing of material & components
  • Exposure to Designing layouts, installing & commissioning machines & equipment and conducting tests to determine effectiveness
  • Must be conversant with TQM,Kaizen and other quality techniques relevant  to the auto industry
  • Should be able to exhibit strong leadership
  • Mentoring subordinates and ensuring amicable employee relations in the shop floor.
